How Business Continuity is Used by Onward Technologies, Martin Currie, City Furniture, Southern Glazer’s and Associated UK Ports: Case Studies | Enterprise Storage Forum

We are in a time where downtime and cyberattacks have become a new normal.

According to a Gartner report, 98% of organizations lose approximately $100,000 for every hour of downtime. It has become crucial for businesses to adopt a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to resolve any operational challenges in times of attack.

City Furniture previously managed its own onsite IT operations and stored critical customer data in local data centers.

City Furniture was looking for a reliable solution to ensure that the company’s critical IT operations were not impacted by hurricane-related disaster situations. The company’s IT management team was looking for a solution that could back up critical data and support network resiliency, regardless of the threat of disaster.

City Furniture then ensured network resiliency by migrating to IBM Cloud using Kyndryl. This move created a flexible platform for cloud-based applications and efficient customer service using cognitive computing. City Furniture moved its operations from hybrid legacy systems to the cloud.

Kyndryl is solely responsible for managing the company’s cloud computing operations, covering high-availability disaster recovery (HADR) and around-the-clock system monitoring. Citrix Virtual Application and Desktop (CVAD) helped the company navigate this period without compromising customer data.
